On Tuesday, an appeals court in Amsterdam ruled that Promes must compensate the relative for the damages and pay an amount that has not yet been determined.
Promes tried to challenge the court ruling in June last year, but today the appeal was rejected.
A cousin accuses Promes of stabbing him in the knee during an argument at a family party in July 2020. For this, Promes was sentenced to 18 months in prison. The footballer also appealed this court decision.
In January, prosecutors requested a 9-year prison sentence for Promes for participating in the trafficking of a large quantity of cocaine. The court will rule on this case on February 14.
Note that Promes, 32, is currently in training camp in the United Arab Emirates with Spartak.
