Athletistic / Football. Barcelona president Joan Laporta and Catalan sporting director Deco are unable to agree on the candidacy of the Blaugrana’s next head coach.
As reports As, Laporta intends to invite to the club an experienced specialist capable of motivating the team and giving results “here and now”, while Deco prefers a younger coach who will be ready to adapt to the situation and to build a long-term project.
The source claims that Laporta’s main candidate is former Bayern and Germany coach Hans-Dieter Flick, while Deco is betting on Sergio Conceicao, who has worked for Porto for many years. Previously, Laporta suggested inviting Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann, Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp to Barcelona.
At the end of January, current Barça coach Xavi announced that he would leave the club at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
