His brother Ibrahim Hassan also joined the coaching staff of the national team.

Egyptian Football Association appointed the new head coach of the national team Hossam Hassan. His brother, Ibrahim Hassanjoined the team’s new coaching staff.

The Hassan brothers are former famous football players who played for Al Ahly, PAOK, Xamax, Zamalek and other clubs, as well as the Egyptian national team. Hossam previously took charge of the Egyptian Premier League club Future, after which he was approached by representatives of the national association.

Let us remind you that the former coach of the Egyptian national team, Rui Vitoria, was fired following his performance at the African Cup of Nations. Along with the coach, his coaching staff also left the national team.

Egypt failed to win a single match at the African Cup of Nations. The team led by Vitoria drew three times with the same score 2:2 (with Mozambique, Ghana and Cape Verde), after which they lost to Congo in the 1/8 finals in a penalty shootout.

There are four matches left at CAN. The semi-finals will take place on February 7 (Nigeria – South Africa and Cote d’Ivoire – Congo). The match for third place is scheduled for February 10, and the final match of the 2023 African Cup of Nations will take place on February 11.
