Athletistic / Football. Shanghai Shenhua sporting director Shiotan Sky Sun explained why the Chinese club chose Leonid Slutsky during the search for a new head coach. The Russian coach took charge of the Blue Devils on January 1, 2024.
“We had a lot of candidates for the position of head coach, but we chose Slutsky for his experience, passion and knowledge. I have known Leonid for many years – we knew him from working in England. Before leaving for China, Slutsky and Lokomotiv Moscow striker Artyom Dzyuba hosted the show “Well, it’s not possible” on the YouTube channel “Komment.Show”. Previously, Slutsky managed Uralan, Moscow, Krylya Sovetov, CSKA, Vitesse, Hull City and the Russian national team. His last workplace was Rubin Kazan, from where he left in November 2022.
