Ukraine U-18 national hockey team lost in a shootout Slovakia U-19 on Memorial to Vlado Dzurilla in Slovak Poprad – 3:4.
Alexander Bobkin’s team took the lead after the first period, having converted the majority. In the second 20 minutes, Slovakia scored three goals and confidently took the lead. However, even before the second break, the Ukrainians responded with two goals.
The third period passed without any goals scored. In overtime, the blue-yellows played on the power play for a minute and a half, but were unable to convert it. The match went into a shootout. Alexey Evtekhov scored his try for Ukraine, and the Slovaks responded with two goals.
Bobkin’s team will play the next match on February 9 against the German U-18 team. Also at the tournament, the Ukrainians will play against the youth team of Japan and Slovakia U-18.
