Portuguese football coach Jose Mourinho spoke about the players he wanted to see on his teams in the past.
Mourinho was fired as head coach of Italian side Roma in January. He has been coaching the team since the summer of 2021, under his leadership the Roman club won the Conference League and reached the Europa League final. The Portuguese won the Champions League with Porto and Inter, coached Real Madrid, Chelsea in London and Manchester United.
– For example, I never had the chance to train Lionel Messi, but no one can train Messi. It’s absurd to think that we can train him because he was born with everything and already knows everything. He might teach you some things. All you could say was that you were honored to have him on your team. I would have liked to see De Rossi at Inter and Real Madrid, but it was impossible. I also wanted to see Totti at Inter, despite his age at the time, but that was also impossible. These are the players I always wanted to see,” Mourinho said, as quoted by Football Italia.
