The Ukrainians scored the winning goal in overtime
Ukraine U-18 national hockey team defeated the youth team in overtime Germany in the second match Memorial to Vlado Dzurilla – 6:5.
The teams had a goal shootout already in the first period. The Germans opened the scoring, to which the blue-yellows responded with two goals from Alexey Evtekhov. The German team then converted the power play twice and went into the first break in the lead.
In the second period, Ukraine equalized the score twice, but again the Germans took the lead. Finally, in the third 20 minutes, the blue-yellows again managed to convert the majority.
In overtime, Alexander Bobkin’s team first successfully defended its goal, playing in the minority. After which Evtekhov, having served his punishment, scored a goal and brought the blue-yellows victory.
Let us remind you that in the first match of the Dzurilla Memorial, Ukraine U-18 lost to Slovakia U-19 in a shootout (3:4). In the next meeting, Bobkin’s team will play against the Japanese youth team on February 10.
