Real Madrid stadium to host NFL game in 2025

Santiago Bernabeu, which is the original stadium real Madrid will host a National Football League (NFL) regular season game in 2025, according to the Madrid team’s website.

The game was announced Friday at a ceremony at a Las Vegas hotel, two days before the Super Bowl. The event took place in the presence of the Executive Director of the NFL, Peter O’Reilly, the Director of Institutional Relations of Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueno, and the General Director of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Santiago López-Vilas. This is the first time that an official NFL match will take place in Spain.

“Bringing the game to Madrid in 2025 demonstrates the NFL’s continued expansion of its global footprint and commitment to bringing our game to more fans around the world.” We are proud to partner with Real Madrid, a global brand, and Madrid to bring a spectacular regular season game to Spain in a world-class stadium,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“I would like to express our deepest gratitude to you and let you know that it is a great honor for Real Madrid to host this international event alongside the NFL in our stadium. For us, you are a model of management and a great travel companion to share our dreams with,” said Butragueño.

The Santiago Bernabeu is currently under reconstruction; previously the stadium could accommodate around 80,000 people.

Kansas City and San Francisco will play this season’s Super Bowl on February 11 in Las Vegas. Besides the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Mexico have recently hosted NFL games, and Brazil is also expected to host one of these games next season.
