The 47-year-old specialist has been unemployed since December 2022, when he was fired from Cagliari.
Liverani has also coached Parma, Lecce, Ternana, Leyton Orient and Genoa.
On 11 February, Salernitana announced the resignation of Filippo Inzaghi as head coach. After 24 rounds, the team has scored 13 points and is in the final 20th place in the Serie A standings.
