Former Spartak footballer Maxim Demenko shared his expectations for the “red-white” match in the second half of the season.
Spartak and Zenit will play on March 2 in St. Petersburg in the 19th round of the MIR RPL. After 18 rounds of the Russian Championship, the “red-whites” are fifth, the “blue-white-blues” are second.
“Spartak has the motivation to go higher, but six points behind Zenit is a lot,” Demenko said. — It is clear that a lot still depends on the opponents’ matches. But if Spartak loses to Zenit, it will be difficult for the red and white to count on second place.
— How would you rate Spartak’s performance at the training camp?
– Double printing. On the one hand, Rostov confidently beat Spartak with a score of 3:0, and in the last match the red and white team won against Kairat – 6:0. Victories in training camps are good, but RPL matches are much more important,” Demenko said according to RB Sport.
After 18 days of the WORLD RPL, Spartak occupies fifth place in the RPL ranking, with 30 points. Zenit, second, has 36 points.
