The return match between Dynamo and Fenerbahce will be held on July 27 in Istanbul
Fenerbahce head coach Georges Jesus commented on a draw with Dynamo (0:0) in the first match of the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
“It was the first official match we played. As I said before the match, we got a difficult opponent. Most football players play in the Ukrainian national team. They are more experienced than Fenerbahce in this tournament.”
“But we played well. In defense terms, we are very well organized. Our opponent did not have a single serious attack. What we lacked was the quality of the attack.”
“The support of our fans in the second match will be a very important advantage. And the atmosphere that they will create will create psychological pressure on the opponent. The confrontation is not over yet, because we are going home with a draw. This is a two-stage confrontation. The first game is over, we want to go to the next round in the second leg.”
“Now there is no need to talk about transfers. Our players have enough quality and opportunities to advance to the next round. We’ve been working on this for over five weeks. There is no need to talk about the players who will not be able to play in the second game.”
Dynamo head coach Mircea Lucescu called the draw against Fenerbahce a positive result.
The return match between Dinamo and Fenerbahce will be held on July 27 in Istanbul. The start is at 20:00.
The winner of the confrontation Dynamo – Fenerbahce will play with the Austrian Sturm in the third round of the Champions League qualification. The losing team will continue to play in the Europa League, where they will meet with the Czech Slovacko in the third qualifying round.
