The International Football Federation is coming up with new ways to popularize the game on a global level.
FIFA announced the launch of the FIFA Series – a series of friendly matches between national teams of different confederations.
These games are held during the March international break in even years. The purpose of the project is the regular holding of matches between teams of different confederations for the development of international football.
The full launch is scheduled for March 2026. The pilot games will take place from March 18 to 26 in Algeria, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka.
The following teams will participate in the pilot games:

Algeria: Algeria, Andorra, Bolivia, South Africa;

Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Mongolia, Tanzania;

Saudi Arabia A: Cape Verde, Cambodia, Equatorial Guinea, Guyana;

Saudi Arabia B: Bermuda, Brunei, Guinea, Vanuatu;

Sri Lanka: Bhutan, Central African Republic, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka.
