The Professional Referees Organization (PRO), responsible for appointing referees for matches in the North American MLS league, has replaced the referee who was supposed to officiate the regular season match between Inter Miami and Orlando City, reports The Athletic .
Guilherme Ceretta was initially named for the match, but it was later announced that Jamie Herrera, who was supposed to act as the reserve referee, would instead be the main referee.
“Guierme Seretta has been excluded from the match due to a potential conflict of interest,” the PRO said in a statement.
Photos of Seretta posing in an Inter Miami uniform were posted on social media.
The meeting will take place in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday evening, the match will start at 0:30 Moscow time. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner plays for Inter Miami Lionel Messi .
