Valencia organization prepares protest at Mestalla Stadium on Vinicius Junior’s return after suffering racism in the same stadium
An organized crowd of Valence tried to distribute some posters that contained a figure of Vinicius Junior represented as Pinocchio in Mestalla Stadiumbefore the match against Real Madrid. The game is the Brazilian’s first back at the venue, since he was the target of racist attacks by rival fans in May last year.
The posters were prepared by the group known as “LibertadVCF” and had two caricatures of the Brazilian striker with a nose like the character Pinocchio, known for lying. The figures were also accompanied by the phrase “Pinochius, I don’t care” (Pinocchio, I don’t care, in English).
The security of Meriton in Mestalla believes that this cartel is not appropriate and is withdrawing it.
Censorship. Dictatorship. Words that rhyme with Peter Lim.

The fans’ demonstration also displayed a message for the Singaporean businessman, Peter Lim, owner of the club. According to publications from the organized fans themselves, Mestalla security blocked the posters from entering. However, they say that the attitude was taken because of the message against the executive, not because of Vini’s pejorative design.
Some photos of fans inside the stadium show some with the sign. Before the ball rolled, the group staged a protest on the outskirts of Mestalla against the businessman. Part of the local press and Valencia fans reiterate the argument that the Brazilian striker lied in his complaints, especially to the Public Ministry.

Fans are said to be angry because they claim that the Real Madrid striker said that the entire stadium had hurled racist insults at him. However, in his statement, Vini reiterated that racism was committed by only one sector of the stands. The club and its fans also claim that those responsible were punished.
