The defender scored his debut goal of the season in the game against Krivbass
Defender Shakhtar Efim Hemp commented on the victory over Krivbass (5:2) in the 19th round of the UPL. The player admitted that there is pressure on the Donetsk club due to the difficult tournament position.
“In fact, it was a little difficult, because Krivbass was in first place in the standings and the game was very principled. We couldn’t beat them in the last match either. The team came out in a very good mood and showed everything they were capable of. We prepared well, all the players, staff, and coaching staff had maximum confidence in our victory.”
“Krivbass is a very good team. Probably, due to the recent matches and place in the table, the importance of the matches is growing. The instructions were the same. Maybe one of the guys just got off on the wrong foot against Alexandria. Also, perhaps they have not yet completely recovered from the game with Marseille, and the meeting with Alexandria was difficult due to constant worries. With Krivbass, the coaching staff provided more peace of mind and said that we can do anything.”
Hemp scored a goal in the reporting match. This goal was Efim’s debut of the season. In total, the defender has 18 games, in which, in addition to the goal, he gave one assist.
Shakhtar is third in the UPL standings with 35 points. The miners are three points behind the leading SC Dnepr-1, while having two matches in hand. In the next round, Shakhtar will host Kolos on March 8.
