Fury: Joe Parker will be fine and beat Zhilei

The fight will take place on March 8 in Riyadh

WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury commented on the upcoming fight of the former world heavyweight champion Joseph Parker against the interim WBO world heavyweight champion Zhang Zhilei.

“Joe is my friend, so I would never bet against him. I think he can win this fight. I believe that he is capable of outboxing Zhilei if he does not allow himself to be caught in a static position by Zhang and does not engage in exchanges with him. Joe has very good footwork and boxing skills.”

“Joe has come a long way since training in Morecambe Bay, home of champions. Zhang has fast hands and slow feet. So if you stand in front of him, he will tear you to pieces. But I think Joe will be fine and beat Zhilei.”

Zhilei and Parker will fight on March 8. The fight will take place on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s confrontation with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, which is scheduled for Saudi Arabia. Fury himself intends to attend the boxing evening in Riyadh.

Zhilei in his last fight defeated Joe Joyce in a rematch, knocking out the Briton in the third round. Parker fought as part of the “Day of Reckoning” boxing evening in Riyadh and defeated Deontay Wilder by unanimous decision.
