White cleared to resume career after doping charges dropped

The investigation revealed that a contaminated food additive tested positive.

Former interim world heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte received permission to resume his professional career. The Briton was cleared of doping charges.

“It was really hard because I knew I was innocent, but then you can’t talk, you can’t say anything. You have to be professional, trust the process, trust the lawyers and trust the people around you. It was tough, but tough times make strong people,” White said.

“First of all, I’m more relieved, but of course I’m also angry because it cost me so much. Most importantly, it cost me my chance to beat AJ. Everything else after that is secondary, but you know, it’s a mixture of emotions.”

White tested positive for doping during a surprise test ahead of his fight with Anthony Joshua in August 2023. The investigation ultimately showed that the banned substance entered the boxer’s body accidentally through a contaminated food additive.

White fought his last fight in November 2022. Dillian defeated American Jermaine Franklin by decision.
