France’s elite division ends cooperation with Uber Eats

French League 1 will change from next season title sponsor. According to media reports, the league management is not going to renew the agreement with Uber Eats, expiring in the summer. She already has a better offer from McDonalds.

According to available information, the current partner’s offer does not exceed 15-16 million euros per year. At the same time, McDonalds is ready to pay 20 million for cooperation.

Thus, everything is heading towards the fact that from the 2023/24 season, the elite division of France will be called McDonald’s Ligue 1 (La Ligue 1 McDonald’s).

Ligue 1 ranks fifth in the current UEFA rankings of national associations, behind England, Spain, Italy and Germany. At the same time, in the 2023/24 season, French clubs brought 13,250 points to their country’s treasury – more than Spanish ones.

The current champion of France is Paris Saint-Germain. He is also the leader in the current championship, nine points ahead of Brest. Today the Parisians will play in the return match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League against Real Sociedad. In the first match, PSG won 2:0 at home.
