“The main difference with Brazil is that in Russia football is very contact, not all violations are recorded by the referee” – Zenit newcomer Arthur

Midfielder “Zenith” Arthur The Brazilian believes that in the Russian Championship there is more contact football and the referees do not record all violations.

Arthur moved to Zenit this winter “Palmeirasa” the footballer made his debut for the Russian club on March 2 in a match with “Spartacus” (0:0). On Tuesday there will be a presentation of the “blue-white-blue” newcomers.

— Did you feel the difference between the RPL and the Brazilian Championship? How well have you adapted to European football?

— I’m happy to have made my debut for Zenit in an official match. The main difference is that in Russia football is essentially contact based. And not all violations are recorded by the referee. But it adds intensity, a certain degree of struggle. This is something that will take some getting used to. As things currently stand, the first matches will not be easy until the pace and level of the opponents are well understood. I get used to it, I adapt, everything, in my opinion, happens at a good pace.

— How did you evaluate your match against Spartak?

— We knew it would be a difficult match. We wanted to win, but results like this are also part of the season. We continue to get into the rhythm of the game, we didn’t have enough. But it’s okay, we’re picking up speed, we’ve returned to official matches, we’re going to improve from match to match and do everything to get back to first place,” said Arthur, quoted by the correspondent.

In the 20th round of the MIR RPL, Zenit will play away against Ural. The match will take place on March 9 and will start at 2:00 p.m. (Moscow time).
