Head coach Ukrainian women’s team Vladimir Pyatenko commented on the upcoming qualifying matches European Championship 2025.
“The Ukrainians ended up in a group of approximately equal composition. Therefore, it’s hard to call anyone a favorite. The same Croatians claimed to qualify for League A, but lost twice to the Norwegians. Football players from Kosovo were promoted from League C, ahead of the Bulgarians, but it was this team that my players confidently beat twice recently. As for the Welsh players, they dropped out of League A, but a whole group of players are involved in the prestigious English Championship.”
“And although a detailed study of the strengths and weaknesses of the competitors is still ahead, I can already say that the Ukrainians will be determined to win the right to compete in the final part of the Euro.”
“Since the first two rounds will take place at the beginning of April, we plan to gather for preparation at the end of March. Where exactly will depend on the calendar.”
The Ukrainian national team will play against the teams of Wales, Croatia and Kosovo in the group round of Division B of the Nations League, which will be part of the qualification for Euro 2025. The group qualifying stage matches will take place from April to July 2024, with the first rounds scheduled for April 3-9.
The top two teams in League B, plus the top two second place teams, will face off against the remaining two second places and those finishing third. Accordingly, for the best seeding, it is advisable for blue-yellow to take first or second place in the quartet. The minimum task is not to become the last in the group.
The six teams that overcome the aforementioned playoff barrier will play in the final qualifying stage against opponents who will go through path A and path C. The top seven will ultimately qualify for the 2025 EURO. Two rounds of the playoffs will take place in October – December 2024.
