The Dnipro coach complained that the team was unable to play its game
Head coach SK Dnepr-1 Yuri Maksimov commented on his team’s home defeat from Rukha (0:1) in the 20th round Ukrainian Premier League.
“This is the second such match when we have to play three or four halves or periods. It was the same with Minaj, when we just came out, warmed up, and had to go back to the locker room. But this is football now. We are at war, and we can only adapt to it.”
“It was a standard situation, we missed a goal, as they say, we scored ourselves, and then we had to win back. Somewhere we were in a hurry, even though we controlled the game, but the ball didn’t go into the opponent’s goal.”
“We didn’t have one break, but played four halves. We had to continue playing, control the game, and not load forward. The team needed to play its own game.”
Let us remind you that Dnepr-1 conceded from Rukh in the very opening of the match – Eduard Sarapiy cut the ball into his own goal after a corner kick. The hosts created several dangerous chances, but failed to come back. The match was interrupted three times due to an air raid raid.
Dnepr-1 leads the UPL, one point ahead of Shakhtar. However, the Miners have three games in hand. Maksimov’s team won only one match out of the last five. In the next round, the Dnipro team will play away against LNZ.
