The guests quickly responded to Kvaratskhelia’s goal with a beautiful strike from Sanabria
Napoli tied with Torino in the home match of the 28th round of the Italian Serie A – 1:1.
The Parthenopeians spent the first half with an advantage, but neither they nor their opponents managed to score.
After an hour of play, the hosts opened the scoring. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia started the run from his own half of the field, passed to the flank, waited for a return pass from Mario Rui and, falling from the goalkeeper’s area, hit the near corner.
Torino came back very quickly: Antonio Sanabria did a great job after a corner and rebound from his opponent and shot Alex Meret with a falling shot.
Napoli tried to snatch victory, but did not achieve what they wanted. Bulls goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic made seven saves.
Napoli, under the new coach Francesco Calzone, has not yet lost, but this result cannot be counted as an asset. The southerners were unable to catch up with Atalanta and remained in seventh place. Torino rounds out the top ten.
The Parthenopeans will play the return match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League on the Barcelona field next Tuesday, March 12 (the first meeting brought a 1:1 draw). After this, Napoli will have an away match with Inter in the 29th round of Serie A. A day earlier, on March 16, Torino will be visiting Udine.
