The Zhytomyr team finished the match in the minority
Polesie lost at home Alexandria in the 20th round match Ukrainian Premier League – 1:2.
Ruslan Rotan’s team took the lead in the 10th minute of the match: Nikolai Mikhailenko finished off Vladislav Kalitvintsev’s serve, the son of Polesie head coach Yuri Kalitvintsev.
The Zhytomyr team bounced back in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Artem Kozak converted the penalty awarded for a foul on Lucas Taylor.
Towards the end of the meeting, Artem Shulyansky returned the advantage to Alexandria. Polesie failed to avoid defeat. In addition, in the 82nd minute the home team were left in the minority after Taylor was sent off.
Polesie extended its winless streak in the championship to six matches. Kalitvintsev’s team takes 6th place in the UPL.
Alexandria won its fifth victory in the current Ukrainian Championship. The townspeople rose to 11th position in the standings.
In the next round, Polesie will play against Obolon on March 16. Alexandria will host Vorskla on March 15.
