Chelsea beat on home field Newcastle in the 28th round match English Premier League – 3:2.
The Blues scored an early goal, with Nicholas Jackson scoring from Cole Palmer. The Magpies equalized before the break after a goal from Alexander Isak.
In the second half, Palmer again put the hosts ahead, and then Mikhail Mudrik scored the third goal five minutes after coming on as a substitute. The Ukrainian picked up the ball near the penalty line, passed the defender, beat the goalkeeper and hit the already empty goal.
Newcastle reduced the gap at the end of the match, Jacob Murphy scored. In the remaining time, the Magpies did not have time to save the match.
Chelsea have 39 points and are in 11th place in the Premier League. Newcastle is one place higher.
Mudryk’s team will next host Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-finals on March 17. Newcastle will play away at Manchester City on March 16 at the same stage.
