Markevich: We completed the selection work by signing Arielson, Khasu and Khromey

Lviv residents worked fruitfully in the winter transfer market

Head coach Karpat Miron Markevich shared news about the latest signings of the Lviv club. The green-whites have strengthened their attackers Arielsonwinger Jared Hasa and midfielder Mikhail Khromey.

“We completed the selection work by signing the last newcomers yesterday: Brazilian Arielson, Frenchman Jared Hasa and Carpathian football graduate Mykhailo Khromey. They spent only a few training sessions in the general group as part of the Carpathians, and now it is important to improve their athletic form to the level of the rest of their teammates, who have completed full stages of preparation. I plan for all the recruits to play a half in the test match today.”

“As for the foreign players, the arrival of Arielson should significantly increase the competition in attack, however, while Carpathians are having a hard time scoring, and Jared Khasa’s strong point is not only speed, but also excellent anthropometric data, which will be useful both in a tough fight on the outskirts of penalty area, and horse duels.”

19-year-old Arielson is on loan from Cruzeiro. The Brazilian spent the first half of the season with Polesie – 16 matches, one goal, two assists. On March 6, the Zhytomyr club terminated the lease agreement with the foreign player ahead of schedule.

26-year-old Frenchman of Congolese origin Jared Hasa (main position – right winger) came as a free agent from Maccabi (Petah Tikva). Previously he played for the Swiss Sion, the French Pau, and the Cypriot AEL. This season he came on as a substitute only four times and missed a lot due to injury.

20-year-old Khromey is a central midfielder. He is on loan from Shakhtar, as are two other winter newcomers – young defenders Eduard Kozik and Andrey Buleza. Khromey has not yet been involved in the matches of the Gornyakov first team. In 2021, he played 11 matches in the UPL for Mariupol, scoring one assist.

Today Carpathians are sparring with the Agron club from the Ternopil region. Markevich’s team has a test match against Shakhtar scheduled for March 16.

In the first part of the 2023/24 season, Karpaty won Group A of the First League, gaining 45 points. In the spring part of the Ukrainian championship, the Lviv team will play in the group for the right to promotion to the UPL. In the next official match, Markevich’s team will meet with Poltava (base date – March 23).
