Commercial Director of Dnepr-1: We do not see the need to move home matches to other cities

According to Friedman, the main thing is that both opponents are on equal terms

Commercial Director SK Dnepr-1 Vyacheslav Fridman spoke about the club’s position regarding the possible postponement of his team’s home matches due to constant air raid raids.

“For lower-class teams, which I, no offense, consider Minaj and Rukh, anxiety during matches was beneficial, but not for us. However, next we have Zorya, Dynamo, Krivbass and Shakhtar, which have gained momentum. These are teams that are on par with Dnepr-1, or superior to us, given our difficulties with the composition. There will be equal conditions. The main thing is not to miss an early goal and not to make yourself dependent on winning back.”

“As for the issue of moving matches to other cities, I talked with both Maksimov and Rusol. We don’t see such a need. Today there were already 2 alarms in Kovalivka. Who knows, maybe it will happen during the match. It’s difficult to predict.”

“If, for example, we play with Dynamo in Kyiv, and Dynamo, for example, promises to pay for our hotel, then how will Krivbass look at us? I have a lot of respect for Karamanitsa. He will be offended. How will Srna look at us if we then don’t come to Lviv, even though they promise to repair the bus?”

“We need all teams to be on equal terms. We dream that there will be no worries, that this won’t happen a third time. I don’t want them to be, because it interferes with Dnieper-1. However, this will also interfere with your opponents. The main thing is to start the match well.”

Let us remind you that both UPL matches of 2024, held in Dnepr, were interrupted several times due to air raid alerts. The match Dnepr – Rukh (0:1) for this reason lasted at least four hours. Dnepr coach Yuri Maksimov complained that his team had to play “three or four halves, or periods.”

Previously, Friedman spoke out about the inappropriateness of returning spectators to the stands, especially in front-line cities.

In both mentioned matches, Dnepr-1 lost points. After 20 rounds, Maksimov’s team was in third place in the championship, two points behind Krivbass and Shakhtar (the Miners had two games in hand).

At the moment, the away match for Dnepr-1 of the 21st round against LNZ, which is hosted by the Kolos stadium in Kovalivka, is ongoing.
