Sarri resigns as Lazio head coach

Potential candidates include Miroslav Klose, Tommaso Rocchi and Christian Brocchi

Head coach Lazio Mauricio Sarri resigned from his position.

It is reported that the coach’s decision took the club’s management by surprise. Sarri’s current contract runs until the summer of 2025. The coach’s resignation has yet to be officially accepted by club president Claudio Lotito.

The main candidate for replacement is the former forward, and now the coach of the Lazio youth team, Tommaso Rocchi. The list of candidates also includes other ex-Orlov players Miroslav Klose and Christian Brocchi.

Lazio lost at home to Udinese (1:2) in their last match. Previously, the team dropped out of the Champions League, losing to Bayern. The Rome club have suffered five defeats in their last six matches in all competitions.

Lazio is ninth in Serie A with 40 points. The Eagles’ next match will be away to Frosinone on March 16.
