Dynamo beat Zorya thanks to goals from Vanat and Popov
Head coach Dynamo Alexander Shovkovsky commented on the victory over Zarya (2:0) in the 21st round match Ukrainian Premier League.
“Of course, the weather conditions had an impact on the players’ actions. As for the game plan… The players tried to implement what we agreed on before the game, although, of course, there were certain points, in particular the speed of the ball, because sometimes the ball stopped completely, and some other points.”
“It was difficult, but we tried to press high, immediately engage in tackles, have more possession of the ball, control the situation, and undermine the opponent’s defense. I believe that, in principle, we succeeded.”
“To conduct any kind of sparring, we need to have a certain number of players available, so that we can enter not only 11 players on the field, but also be able to make substitutions. We have no sparring scheduled as of today. We will see how many guys will stay and train as part of the team. Yarmolenko, Tsarenko, Buyalsky, Supryaga, Malysh, and Ignatenko are not currently training in the group. Another 12 players have been called up to the national teams. In addition, Tymchik was called back.”
The duel with Zarya took place in difficult conditions on a snowy field. Dynamo won thanks to goals from Vladislav Vanat and Denis Popov.
Dynamo scored 38 points and ranks fourth in the UPL. In the next round, Shovkovsky’s team will play against Vorskla on March 31.
