Arsenal beat on home field Porto in the second leg of the 1/8 finals Champions League.
The Gunners took the lead before the break thanks to a precise strike from Leandro Trossard – 1:0. The Belgian was assisted by Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.
In the second half of the match, Odegaard himself scored a goal, but the goal was canceled due to a foul. The match smoothly progressed into extra time. Let us remind you that the first match of the confrontation ended with a minimal victory for Porto – 1:0.
In the extra times, the score on the scoreboard did not change. The Gunners won the penalty shootout – 4:2. Thus, Arsenal reached the quarter finals of the Champions League.
Arsenal defender Alexander Zinchenko came on as a substitute at the beginning of the second extra time. The Ukrainian recently recovered from a muscle injury, due to which he missed a month.
Manchester City, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona also qualified for the quarter finals of the Champions League. Two more quarterfinalists will be determined on March 13 in the Atlético – Inter and Borussia D – PSV confrontations.
