The former coach of the club, Sergei Shishchenko, headed Polesie
Zvyagel announced the appointment Nikolai Gibalyuk acting head coach.
Gibalyuk was previously part of the coaching staff of Sergei Shishchenko, who recently moved to the UPL club Polesie as a mentor.
39-year-old Gibalyuk worked in Minai, and also as an assistant to Shishchenko at MFK Nikolaev. In 2023, together with Shishchenko, Gibalyuk moved to Zvyagel, where he also worked as an assistant head coach.
According to Sport Arena, Zvyagel loaned goalkeeper Chizhioke Aniagboso and defender Moses Zharzhu from Polesie. Also, in February, the Zhytomyr team formalized the transfer of the captain of the Congo U-23 national team, Borel Tomanzoto, and immediately sent him to the Second League club.
Zvyagel finished the year at the head of the Second League standings. The team under Shishchenko scored equal points with YuKSA, but is higher in terms of additional indicators, and also has a game in hand. Zvyagel will play his next official match in March.
