The Cherries were losing 0:3 after the first half, but managed to snatch a super-strong victory
Bournemouth won a stunning victory at home over Luton in the rescheduled match of the 17th round English Premier Leaguelosing by three goals after the first half – 4:3.
At the break, it seemed, the question of the winner was resolved. Luton tore the hosts apart perfectly on the counterattack. First, Tahith Chong, left alone in front of the goal, headed in Jordan Clarke’s cross. Alfie Doughty and Chidozie Ogbene then broke down Bournemouth’s defense. Finally, Ross Barkley ran to the other goal and hit the ball into the net over Neto.
However, Andoni Iraola’s team did not give up. The super comeback began with a goal from Dominic Solanke, who brilliantly dealt with several opponents in the penalty area.
Then Ukrainian Ilya Zabarny scored his debut goal in the 38th match for Bournemouth (and 33rd this season), who successfully finished off a corner. And almost immediately, Antoine Semenyo, moving from the flank, accurately shot low into the corner.
The denouement came at the end – Semenyo, after a pass from the active Enes Unala, burst into the penalty area and scored a double with a powerful blow.
The victory allowed Bournemouth to gain 35 points and significantly move away from the relegation zone, in which their current opponent is located.
Luton will host Nottingham on March 16, and Zabarny’s team will play Vitaly Mikolenko’s Everton at the end of the month, after the international break.
