Forward Rukha Klimchuk was injured and out until the end of the season

Yuri will be operated on in Poland

Attack Ruha Yuri Klimchuk suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament. He will require surgery and will not return to play until the end of this season.

This injury resulted in partial instability of the knee joint. The head of the Lviv medical staff, Yuriy Polygas, will soon travel with Klimchuk to Poland, where, after consultation, the player will undergo surgery. Complete surgical reconstruction of the ligament may likely be required. Klimchuk’s recovery period is from three to four months to six months.

Klimchuk is the second important Rukh player to suffer a serious injury this year. In January, misfortune happened to team captain Marko Sapuga, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in a sparring match with Austrian Sturm. Marko subsequently underwent surgery in Warsaw.

26-year-old Klimchuk played 17 matches this season, scored five goals, and provided three assists. Recognized as the best player of the 2nd round of the UPL.

Rukh ranks fifth in the Ukrainian Championship with 33 points in 20 matches. This coming Saturday, March 16, the Lviv team will play Metalist 1925.
