The experienced Bosnian called the Ukrainian national team “a young and strong team”
Midfielder and one of the leaders Bosnia and Herzegovina national team Miralem Pjanic shared his expectations for the upcoming match against Ukraine in the semi-finals of the qualifying playoffs Euro 2024.
“I’m looking forward to the match of my life and I dream of going with the Bosnia and Herzegovina team to the European Championship. For the first time in history, I was in the uniform of my country at the World Cup and I would like to be at the Euros – we still haven’t participated in them. A tough match awaits us, but there is a lot of motivation plus the fans, who will be an advantage for our team.”
“Ukraine has a very high-quality team. This is a young and strong team. I have watched them several times and I see that they are a very good team that gave Italy a lot of trouble in qualifying. And this speaks volumes about the qualities of the blue-yellows.”
“We were unlucky in the previous playoffs. You have to be psychologically prepared for such matches. We have several players who have more experience than the youth and we need to pass that on to the whole team. I look forward to the upcoming meeting and approach it with great motivation.”
“We have fantastic fans and I hope we can please them as well as the rest of the country. It is very important for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina if we qualify for the Euro, and we will do everything to make this happen.”
33-year-old Pjanic is one of the most star players in the history of Bosnian football. During his career, he played for Metz, Lyon, Juventus, Barcelona, Besiktas, and since 2022 he has represented Sharjah FC from the UAE. This season, Miralem played 24 matches and provided 7 assists.
Let us remind you that today the Ukrainian national team flew to Marbella, Spain, for a training camp dedicated to preparing for the playoffs of qualification for the 2024 European Championship.
