A longtime suspect of participating in drug trafficking, Promes already had his name involved in an investigation and was accused of participating in the importation of cocaine in January 2020, to Antwerp, Belgium. Two years later, the Dutch Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the player’s arrest for allegedly stabbing his cousin during a fight, which also occurred in 2020.
Considered a great promise from the Netherlands when he appeared in the professional team of Twentein 2013, Promes even managed to demonstrate good football for a few years, making him reach the Sevilla, from Spain, but after that he didn’t do it again. The return to his country took place by reducing the level of the teams, until arriving in Russia, in 2021.
