Lucescu: Dynamo played carefully enough not to stumble in the first match and have chances in the next game

The first match of Kiev with Fenerbahce ended in a draw

Main coach Dynamo Mircea Lucescu appreciated the game of his team in the first match with Fenerbahce (0:0) within the second round of qualification Champions League. The Romanian specialist also explained why the people of Kiev acted cautiously.

“It was a balanced match, the Fenerbahce players made very good passes, there were many positive moments from their side. They trained at home, at their base, and were not on the road, like us. Moreover, they had the opportunity to make those transfers that the coach wanted,” Lucescu said.

“There were many factors against us, plus the fact that we played on a neutral field. There were also many Turkish fans and their support was heard. I expect them to be much better in Istanbul.”

“This was our first match after eight months of inactivity and these charity peace matches don’t really matter because they also turn into peace on the playing field.”

“We need something different, we played carefully enough not to stumble in the first leg and have chances in the return game. They had more shots on goal, but we had more clean chances to score.”
