The defender currently plays for Fluminense on loan
Turkish Trabzonspor renewed his interest in the defender Miner to Marlon Santos.
The Brazilian player was close to moving to this club in the summer of 2022 on loan, but the transfer ultimately did not take place – it was reported that the key factor was the reluctance of the player’s wife to move to Trabzon.
Marlon moved to Shakhtar in the summer of 2021 from Sassuolo following head coach Roberto De Zerbi. The transfer amount was 12 million euros. In total, the Brazilian managed to play 22 matches for the Miners in all tournaments. His contract with the Donetsk club is valid until the summer of 2026. At the same time, the player does not want to return to Ukraine while the war continues and wants to stay in Brazil.
As a result, Marlon spent the 2022/23 season in Monza, and since last summer he has been playing for his native Fluminense. Last season, the defender played 20 matches for Flu in all competitions, and won the Libertadores Cup with the club. At the end of February, it was reported that another Brazilian club, Bahia, was interested in him.
The 28-year-old player’s current loan agreement runs until June 30. Marlon’s estimated market value is €5 million.
