The Championship representative scored two goals in stoppage time
Championship representative Coventry beat on the road Wolverhampton in the quarter final match FA Cup 2023/24 – 3:2.
The teams did not score goals in the first half. Ellis Simms gave the visitors the lead after the break. Wolves pulled back in the 83rd minute through Ryan Aita-Nouri, before the home side took the lead five minutes later through Hugo Bueno.
Coventry showed character and in stoppage time not only equalized the score, but also snatched victory. The heroes of the meeting were Simms and Hadji Wright.
Coventry became the first participant in the 2023/24 FA Cup semi-finals. The remaining semi-finalists will be determined in the matches Manchester City – Newcastle, Manchester United – Liverpool and Chelsea – Leicester.
Coventry are in eighth place in the Championship. Wolverhampton are in 9th position in the Premier League.
