Ukrainian Olympic team ended up in fourth basket when drawing lots for the football tournament of the upcoming Games in Paris.
The blue-and-yellows will definitely not play in the group round with the teams of the Dominican Republic, Israel and the winner of the intercontinental playoffs.
In total, 12 of the 16 participants in the football tournament at the Olympic Games 2024 are already known. Europe will be represented at the event by Ukraine, Spain, Israel and France.
- 1 basket: France, Asian Confederation team no. 1, Asian Confederation team no. 2, Argentina
- 2 basket: Spain, New Zealand, Paraguay, Morocco
- 3 basket: USA, Egypt, Asian Confederation Team No. 3, Mali
- 4 basket: Dominican Republic, Israel, Ukraine, winner of the intercontinental playoff (Asian Confederation team No. 4 – Guinea).
Let us remind you that the U-21 national team under the leadership of Ruslan Rotan last summer managed to reach the 1/2 finals of the Youth Euro 2023, which guaranteed itself a historic participation in the Olympics. Ukraine became one of the 16 participants in the Olympic football tournament, the draw for which will take place in Paris on March 20.
The football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games will take place from July 24 to August 9. It will be hosted by Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, Lyon, Nice and Nantes. The current Olympic champion is the Brazilian team, which this time failed to qualify for the final tournament.
According to the regulations, football players born no earlier than January 1, 2001 will be able to play for the national team at the Olympic Games in France. Three older players can also be included in the application.
