“The Russian national team has always been a benchmark, we must strive to get into the team” – Lokomotiv footballer Karpukas

Lokomotiv midfielder Artem Karpukas admitted that entering the national team Russia has always been a guideline for him in his career.

Karpukas was not included in the final composition of the national team for matches with the national teams of Serbia and Paraguay. Last September, the footballer came on as a substitute in a friendly match against the Qatar team (1:1).

— You were included in the expanded roster of the Russian national team, but did not make the final roster. How much does the national team motivate you?

— I always want to participate and participate, I am always for it. Train among the best football players in the country, especially when our foreign players come to play in Europe.

— Has the national team always been a reference for you, since your childhood?

– This has always been, is and will be a guideline. We must strive to hit. I only have one minute for the national team. I’m looking forward to another start, you could say (smile). “I am still hungry for everything in football, and especially to play for the national team,” said the footballer according to the press service of the Reds and Greens.

This season, the 21-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Moscow club in the Russian Championship and Cup.

On March 21, the Russian team will play a friendly match with Serbia, and on March 25 with Paraguay. Both matches will take place at the VTB Arena in Moscow; watch the broadcasts on the channel.
