The head coach of Kiev Dynamo has been accused of bankruptcy of the Romanian football club.
Mircea Lucescu was summoned to court in Bucharest. The head coach of Kiev Dynamo will act as a defendant in the bankruptcy case of Romanian Rapid. The meeting is scheduled for May 26th. This was reported by the publication Fanatik.ro.
The country’s tax service wants to return more than 17 million lei (about 3.5 million euros) to the treasury. They want to recover money from Mircea Lucescu, George Kopos and seven other people.
It should be noted that the main accused is George Kopos, who from 1992 to 2013 was the owner of the Bucharest club. Mircea Lucescu coached this team in the 1997/98 and 1999/2000 seasons.
Tax authorities believe Kopos, and people close to him, intended the club to go bankrupt at the time of reporting, causing, among other things, financial damage to the state.
