Vernidub: The injury-time goal shows that we wanted to win more

Bizimana scored the winning goal in the match with Kolos

Mentor Krivbassa Yuri Vernidub commented on the victory over Kolos (1:0) in the 21st round of the UPL.

“Our team played poorly in the first half. There were few opportunities to score. We played more across the field and back. There wasn’t that passion, that mood to win. I saw this desire more during the break at Kolos.”

“But after the break we made some changes in the lineup. Yuri Vakulko and Andrey Ponedelnik came out very well. Therefore, the second half is a completely different game, a completely different desire of the team to play and win. There were enough chances that we, however, did not realize.”

“But we were lucky, you might say. In the last minute of stoppage time, Bizimana scored a good goal. This suggests that we still wanted to win more. Because I don’t remember the moments at our goal in the second half. That’s why we won. I am very grateful to the guys and fans who supported us today and drove us forward. Once again, thank you all very much, congratulations on your victory! Let’s move on.”

Krivbass is level on points with UPL leader Shakhtar, but the Miners have two games in hand.

After a break for national team matches, Krivbass will play against Veres on March 30.
