Bayern are seriously behind Los Blancos
Madrid Real Madrid is the most successful club in the Champions League of the last decade. And we are talking not only about five victories in the tournament during this period, but also about amount of prize money. Real was the only club that crossed the billion euro mark in bonus payments for performances in European competitions starting from the 2011/2012 season.
Over 12 years, Andrei Lunin’s current club has earned, according to the Football Benchmark analytical platform, a little more than a billion euros. Note that this amount will increase at the end of this season, and if Los Blancos win the Champions League, in the quarter-finals of which they will play Manchester City, then Real Madrid’s prize money, taking into account marketing payments, will exceed 100 million euros per season.
In second place in the number of prize money during this period is Bayern, which has won the Champions League twice in the last 13 years. In third is the current trophy winner Manchester City.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona, with a prize money of 820 million euros, took only sixth place, behind Juventus and PSG. Liverpool ended up in ninth place, earning 645 million.
Let us note the seventh place of Chelsea, the 11th place of Manchester United, as well as the inclusion of two Portuguese teams in the TOP 15 – Porto (436 million) and Benfica (417 million).
