Villarreal in the Levantine derby with a minimal score beat at home Valencia in the match of the 29th round of the Spanish Examples – 1:0.
The match was an even contest, with the guests initially threatening the opponent’s goal more often. However, the first half should have ended in favor of the hosts. Bertrand Traore earned a penalty, but Giorgi Mamardashvili saved the ball after a bad shot from Alex Baena.

In the last quarter of the match, Villarreal looked fresher, missing several good chances to double the score. The final victory allowed Marcelino’s team to rise to ninth place, moving within two points of Valencia (8th position).
