Valencia with Yaremchuk lost away to Villarreal

The Ukrainian forward started and was replaced in the 72nd minute

Villarreal in the Levantine derby with a minimal score beat at home Valencia in the match of the 29th round of the Spanish Examples – 1:0.

The match was an even contest, with the guests initially threatening the opponent’s goal more often. However, the first half should have ended in favor of the hosts. Bertrand Traore earned a penalty, but Giorgi Mamardashvili saved the ball after a bad shot from Alex Baena.

Yellow Submarine managed to achieve its goal in the opening of the second half. After the corner and the commotion in the goalkeeper’s area, defender Jorge Cuenca turned out to be the most efficient, heading the ball into the goal.

All attempts by Valencia to win back were in vain. The Ukrainian forward couldn’t help Ruben Baraja’s team either Roman Yaremchuk, who started and was replaced in the 72nd minute. In total, the 28-year-old Ukrainian scored four goals in 24 matches for Valencia.

In the last quarter of the match, Villarreal looked fresher, missing several good chances to double the score. The final victory allowed Marcelino’s team to rise to ninth place, moving within two points of Valencia (8th position).

In the next round, Valencia will host Mallorca on March 30th, while Villarreal will play at home against Atlético Madrid on the first day of April.
