Terzic’s team lost to Götze, but Hummels brought them victory
Borussia Dortmund managed to achieve victory over Eintracht in the match of the 26th round of the German Bundesliga – 3:1.
The guests opened the scoring quite quickly – Mario Götze scored against his former team with a successful finish. The hosts managed to come back thanks to a flank pass and Doniel Malen’s cross, which was headed home by Karim Adeyemi.
The Eagles held on well for most of the second half, but the Bumblebees still managed to snatch a strong-willed victory thanks to a set piece – Brandt’s cross was turned in by Mats Hummels.
In the 85th minute, referee Tobias Stieler sent Emre Can off the field for a rough tackle, but on the advice of VAR he reviewed the card and replaced it with a yellow one. Soon Yussouf Moukoko earned a penalty, and the aforementioned Can converted it.
The hard-fought victory allowed Borussia to leapfrog Leipzig and return to fourth place. Eintracht remained in sixth position, 10 points behind Dortmund.
In the next round, Borussia will play away against Bayern, and Eintracht will host Union. Both meetings will take place on March 30.
