Seven amateur clubs are interested in joining the Second League for the 2024/25 season

Previously, Penuel (Krivoy Rog) also applied for participation, but decided to put the certification process “on pause”

As became known Sports Arenaat the moment seven amateur clubs are interested in participating in the championship Second League season 2024/25.

The list includes: Kulikov-Yunost (Upper/Lower Belka), Phoenix (Submonastery), Probius (Horodenka), Podolyany (Ternopil), FAPF (Ivano-Frankivsk), SK Maramures (Solotvinskaya TG), SK Olkhovtsy (Transcarpathian region).

Let us remember that five of these clubs were named among the contenders for replenishment of the Second League participants back in November last year. One of them was FC Penuel from Krivoy Rog, but over time it was forced to reconsider its intentions.

As the president of FC Penuel Yuliy Morozov said:

“We have officially paused the certification process for participation in the Second League. But we leave this option open for ourselves. And if suddenly fate and the official structures of Ukrainian football open a window of opportunity, perhaps we will take advantage of it this year.”

15 teams started in the current Second League championship. During the 2023/24 season, Nikolaev Vast was excluded from the drawing.

The leaders of the standings are Zvyagel and YUKSA. Both have 40 points, but YUKSA played a match more. The championship went on pause at the end of November and will resume next week. The first match of the year in the Second League will take place on March 22, Zvyagel and Kremin-2 will play in it. The remaining matches of the 20th round will take place on the 23rd-24th.
