Former coach Bosnia and Herzegovina national team Safet Susic shared his expectations from the confrontation between the Balkan team and Ukraine in the semi-finals of the qualifying playoffs European Championship 2024.

“Like everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I’m looking forward to Thursday and the playoff match against Ukraine. If we win in Zenica, I believe we will qualify for the European Championships because, realistically speaking, the quality of Ukraine cannot compare with Iceland or Israel.”

“Because of the situation in their country, the whole world may want the Ukrainians to go to the European Championship, but we are playing on our home soil and in front of our fans. You yourself know what kind of atmosphere you can create in Zenica. So I wish Savo and the guys good luck and that they make us happy.”

His coaching career was spent mostly in Turkey, and the peak was working with his native national team in the period 2010 – 2014.
