The Sports Court in Lausanne will consider Tymoshchuk’s claim against the UAF on April 22

In 2022, the UAF CDC deprived the ex-football player of all Ukrainian awards and banned him from engaging in football activities in Ukraine

The date of the meeting has been announced Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, on the claim of an ex-player of Shakhtar and the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Timoshchuk against Ukrainian Football Association (UAF).

A year ago it became known that a former football player filed a complaint against the decisions of the UAF justice authorities. It was reported that the Association was working on preparing a line of defense. In September, the UAF confirmed that CAS would consider Tymoshchuk’s claim.

Let us recall that in March 2022, the UAF CDC banned Tymoshchuk from carrying out any activities related to football in Ukraine for life. Also, the ex-footballer was deprived of all titles of winner and silver medalist of the Ukrainian Championship, Ukrainian Cup, and Ukrainian Super Cup. Tymoshchuk appealed the decisions of the FTC, but the UAF Appeal Committee rejected the complaint in full.

Tymoshchuk also came under sanctions from the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. The sanctions provide for blocking the assets of persons on the territory of Ukraine, restricting trade operations, as well as a ban on entry into the territory of Ukraine.

The ex-Shakhtar football player played for Russian Zenit in 2007-2009 and 2013-2015. From March 2017 to this day, Tymoshchuk has been working on the coaching staff of the club from St. Petersburg.

Early in the morning of February 24, 2022, Russia fired rockets and aerial bombardment of most Ukrainian cities, and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia has continued for the 754th day.
