Croatia, Egypt, Tunisia and New Zealand will hold sparring matches as part of the 2024 FIFA Series pilot project

The friendly mini-tournament will take place in Cairo, matches will take place on March 22-26

As part of the pilot project FIFA Series 2024 The friendly tournament will be held by four more teams – Croatia, Egypt, Tunisia And New Zealand.

The host party for this quartet will be Cairo. Sparring will take place between March 22 and March 26, 2024.

Let us remind you that FIFA previously announced the launch of a project of intercontinental friendly matches with the participation of national teams of all six confederations – the FIFA Series. The pilot series of test matches will take place during the March international window.

In total, in the coming days, a series of sparring matches with the participation of four different teams representing different continents will be held in five countries of the world – Egypt, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka. These test matches will feature 24 teams from all confederations – Europe (UEFA), South America (CONMEBOL), Africa (CAF), Asia (AFC), North and Central America (CONCACAF) and Oceania (OFC).

In the future, the FIFA Series project will be implemented in March of every even-numbered year. Full deployment is planned for 2026.

Let us remind you that in the same March international window, the Ukrainian national team will play in the playoffs of the Euro 2024 qualification. In the semi-finals, the blue-yellows will play away against Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 21. If they win, Rebrov’s team will host the winner of the Israel-Iceland duel in Wroclaw, Poland, on March 26.
