Tudor is officially the new head coach of Lazio

Earlier it was reported that the contract with the Croatian would be signed until 2025

Lazio officially announced the appointment Igor Tudora to the position of head coach of the Roman club.

It was recently reported that the 45-year-old Croatian would sign a contract with the Romans until 2025 with an option to extend for another season.

Let us remind you that on March 12, Lazio officially announced the resignation of Maurizio Sarri from the post of head coach. Giovanni Martusciello became the temporary acting coach of the Romans. Among the alternatives to Tudor were former players of the Roman club – Miroslav Klose (who immediately confirmed his readiness to lead the Orlov), Tommaso Rocchi and Cristiano Brocchi.

Tudor is known for his performances for Juventus (1998 – 2007) and the Croatian national team (bronze at the 1998 World Cup), as well as Hajduk and Siena. Since 2013, Igor has worked as a head coach in Hajduk, PAOK, Karabükspor, Galatasaray, Udinese, Verona and Marseille (where he managed to coach the Ukrainian Ruslan Malinovsky). Since last summer – without work.

Under the “temporary” Martusciello, Lazio managed to break the series of defeats by beating Frosinone away on March 16 (3:2). The Romans are in ninth place in Serie A, 11 points behind the top 3. In the 1/8 finals of the Champions League, the Eagles were eliminated by Bayern (1:0, 0:3).

Tudor will make his debut in charge of Lazio in a home match against Juventus (third place) on March 30.
