Driver of the Formula 1 team “Alpin” Pierre Gasly became co-owner of a football club “Versailles” reports the team’s press service.
Versailles plays in the third division of the French championship.
“I am happy to work with Versailles because I have always wanted to be part of professional football. My partners and I share values, ambitions and a competitive spirit, and this will allow us to move the club forward. This is the start of a very beautiful story,” wrote the French runner on the social network.
The Versailles football club was founded in 1989.
After 25 rounds, the team ranks 10th in the standings with 32 points.
